It's Raining, It's Raining!!

(she's been taking pictures of herself)
Today it came a sudden thunderstorm (no surprise there!) and lightening ran in on one of our electrical outlets. Luckily nothing was plugged in there but in the panic of....is the house gonna catch on fire (it did the last time lightening ran in!)....Brook runs up to me, "Mama, mama, it's raining, it's raining!" I respond out of residual panic from the electricity "yea, yea, Brook I know, it's storming!" as I frantically unplug everything in the house-computer first, lol. "But, Mama..." I can see some excitement in her eyes and I say "What Brook? What is it?" and she smiles her beautiful smile and says "How can I hear that? The window is up and everything, but I can hear the rain!" And bless her heart she's so excited, I run to her room to listen, as if I were hearing it for the first time....love these moments!

Those moments that we would have taken for granted before we had HOH/deaf kids are definitely precious moments now!
