Another ploy against hearing people

My dear sweet "angels" were caught (yet again) planning their schemes to con the hearing. I overheard Brook (who is four!) telling her big brother that she would take her coils off in class today so she wouldn't have to hear the teachers. Gage laughed and frankly, I hear this one a lot! Then, Brook says "I'll tell my teachers, 'I can't hear you, I need new batteries'" just to try and see if she can pull the wool over their eyes...aren't they a little young to be plotting such mischief?

Ha Ha Ha....I love it! My kids use this one a lot, but only on me (do they really think I'm that naive? Obviously, yes :)

This is funny!! I am wondering if mine is doing the samething with his FM system, he keeps turning off his boots, not sure if it for attention or a real issue!! :) They sure do keep us on our toes..

I used to keep my hearing aid batteries with the school nurse, and I recall wanting a few hours away from school, I lied about needing a new battery, and went home, took a nice hot bath and made myself a huge steaming mug of hot chocolate before heading back to school.

note that this ploy only works when both parents work away from home and you live close to school!

Angels!!! they are Demons!! LOL... bless their little hearts. I did those tricks when i was a child... I used to play really deaf and have the teachers puzzling over "dead" boxes (the 80's body worn aids) 10-20 mins of trying to get me to hear with them wasting classroom time! oops!

LOL!

Not really. I pulled that stunt many times, turning off my hearing aid... it worked until the teacher became suspicious and tested me behind my back. After I got busted several times, I cleaned up my act. By the way, the office had hearing aid batteries, so we couldn't use that excuse. ;)

Oh no, not at all! I would exercise my right for selective hearing all the time. :)
