I just did something that I wish I hadn't done...
I looked at the calendar and realized we only have three weeks and a few days left of our Summer break from school. Pretty soon, the kids will go into detox (read that here, lol) and I'll be busy shuffling my subbing job, the accounting office job, my PTO volunteering along with just being a mom.
I must send out my email, to make sure the school has moved the kids' anti-static mats they use for the computers. These mats must be grounded by someone from the main campus (maintenance department) but need to be put into their classrooms in advance.
Oh I vow to lie by the pool all day for as many days as the weather will permit and/or enjoy my babies, because I'm sad that this will end soon! (insert wailing)

Hi Val, my name is caren from Philippines. I am also a mother of a 5 year old boy who was diagnosed with severe to profound hearing loss and was lucky to get bilateral cochlear implant when he was 2 years old. My worries is that at this point in time, he is still not talking very well, he has only few words to utter and is not even clear, I admit, we don't have enough facilities in our place to cater his needs for therapies. What therapies your kids went through after their implant why they are talking very well? I hope I can get some help from you Val. Please email me in this address caren_ so@yahoo.com, I will be looking forward to hear from you. Thank you so much and God Bless you more abundantly!!
hi Caren! My kids went to weekly therapy (AVT or Auditory Verbal Therapy) but even with that, it takes time. Some kids do the therapy for years and some kids do very well with it and some still struggle, it all depends on the therapy, the kids, the dedication of the parents, other issues that can affect speech/language. If you look on my videos page, up near the top, you should be able to see my videos on youtube.
